Alamo Heights graduate Levi Valadez won a one-hole playoff to capture the prestigious Byron Nelson Junior Championship at Lakewood Country Club in Dallas. It is Valadez’s second tournament victory in as many weeks. He won the Patrick Reed Junior Championship June 23 in The Woodlands.
A Kansas State signee who was named to this year’s Express-News All-Area Super Team, Valadez parred the first playoff hole to top Plano’s Parker Coody, a Texas commit and the grandson of 1971 Masters champion Charles Coody.
